A recent survey from Washington State University uncovers worries among American workers about the impact of artificial intelligence, like ChatGPT, on their jobs.
The study shows that about one-third of respondents fear that AI could lead to job redundancy, while nearly half are concerned about falling behind if they don’t keep up with new technologies.
Debbie Compeau, interim dean of WSU’s Carson College of Business, emphasized the importance of ongoing training in AI applications both on the job and in college.
She highlighted the need for businesses and educational institutions to equip workers with the necessary skills to adapt to the evolving workplace landscape. According to her,
it's essential for busin
ess schools to demonstrate to students how to effectively utilize AI in their professional roles, addressing concerns about skill readiness.
