The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-risk alert for users of Google Chrome on Mac, Windows, and Linux. They strongly advise all users to immediately update their browser to the latest version due to several security vulnerabilities.

According to CERT-In, these vulnerabilities affect Google Chrome versions v122.0.6261.57 and earlier on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Google has released the latest Chrome version, which includes 12 security fixes. Out of these, two were marked as high-severity flaws, five as medium-severity vulnerabilities, and one as low severity. The tech giant has also awarded $28,000 in bug bounties to researchers who discovered these exploits.
To protect yourself from these targeted attacks, CERT-In strongly urges Google Chrome users on desktop to update their browser to the latest version immediately.
Here's how you can manually update Google Chrome to the latest version:
1. Open Google Chrome on your desktop.
2. Click on the three vertical dots located on the top right corner of the screen, next to your profile picture.
3. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Help’ and then click on ‘About Google Chrome’.
4. Google Chrome will automatically check for the newest version and install it if available.
