What's Happening?
Microsoft is testing a feature that lets Copilot, its AI-powered chatbot, analyze and summarize files. This means users can share files directly with Copilot, and it will read them to answer questions or provide summaries.
How Does It Work?
In the latest update spotted by Leopeva64 on X, Copilot now has an 'Add a file' button. Users can click this button to upload files from their computers. Then, Copilot reads the file contents to provide insights or summaries based on the data.
Why Is It Useful?
This feature is handy for users dealing with large amounts of data. Instead of manually going through files, they can use Copilot to analyze and summarize them. This can save time and effort, especially for those handling complex data sets.
When Will It Be Available?
Currently, this feature is being tested on the Canary version of Microsoft Edge. There's no official word on when it will roll out to all users, but Microsoft is working on making it available soon.
Other Copilot Updates:
Microsoft has been adding new features to Copilot since its launch. Recently, it announced that Copilot can now edit AI-generated images using Designer. This feature allows users to edit images, add effects, and resize them without leaving the chat.
These image editing features are currently available for English speakers in select countries, including Australia, India, New Zealand, the U.S., and the U.K.
