The upcoming update for the Quest 3 promises to bring exciting new augmented reality features. During a recent live session on Instagram, Meta's Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Bosworth, hinted at a personalized user interface that will allow users to customize their experience. This includes the ability to pin windows in the virtual space, enabling users to move around freely while keeping important information in view, similar to the Vision Pro.

While the current version of the Quest UI already offers some of these capabilities, Bosworth assures that the upcoming update will make interactions more seamless and intuitive. Users can expect improvements in typing experiences, with the option to pin a virtual keyboard to a surface for easier typing.

Additionally, Meta is exploring ways to integrate the Quest 3 with other smart devices, such as lights and plugs, allowing for enhanced control and interaction. Bosworth also mentioned the introduction of a 'lying down mode,' a feature already present in previous Quest models.

Although the exact release date for the Quest UI update remains unknown, rumors suggest it will coincide with the launch of the highly anticipated Quest Pro 2 headset later this year. With Meta's continuous efforts to innovate and improve its virtual reality offerings, users can look forward to a more immersive and versatile experience with the Quest 3.
