What's Happening?

WhatsApp recently announced plans to test integration with other messaging apps to follow the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). This means users could exchange messages, videos, and more across different platforms.

But Some Users Prefer Control:

While this feature might be helpful for some, others might not want messages from other apps. So, WhatsApp is testing a new option. If users don't want cross-platform messages, they can turn them off. This means they won't get messages from other platforms, and their chats will be read-only until they delete them.

What's New?

In the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.6.2, there's a new toggle. This toggle lets users switch off third-party chats in the app. Developers are also working on a feature to let users pick which apps can talk to WhatsApp. This way, users can personalize their experience.

When Will It Be Available?

Right now, this feature is still in development. It might take a few weeks or even a couple of months before users can use it. But WhatsApp is working on making it available soon.
