Many wonder, "Is it really priced around Rs 1,000? It looks so fancy with those lights…"
That's a common reaction when people see the Ant Esports MK1500 Mini Retro keyboard in action. Despite its retro charm and colorful lights, this keyboard comes at an incredibly affordable price, often hovering around Rs 1,000 or even lower.
For its price, the MK1500 Mini Retro offers a delightful typing experience. It's a compact keyboard, known as a 60 percent keyboard, meaning it lacks dedicated number keys and a number pad. Made entirely of plastic, it's lightweight, weighing just 300 grams. Available in white with prominent Ant Esports branding on the space bar, it features a Type C charging port at the back. It's small and light enough to toss into a backpack, although we recommend protecting it in a bag to prevent damage.
Pairing the keyboard is a breeze – simply flip the switch next to the charging port and select the keyboard from your Bluetooth device list. We successfully connected it to an iPad, Xiaomi Pad 6, and Windows ThinkPad without any issues. Keep in mind that it doesn't support multi-point connectivity, so you can't connect it to multiple devices simultaneously.
Once connected, typing on the MK1500 Mini Retro is a joy. It's a membrane keyboard with round keys that offer satisfying travel and clicky sounds, reminiscent of classic typewriters. The colorful lights under the keys add a gaming vibe, making it stand out in any setting. Although you can't customize the light patterns, you can adjust their brightness. While the keys may feel a bit shaky, they're surprisingly sturdy.
Overall, the MK1500 Mini Retro offers a comfortable typing experience, despite its smaller size. You may need some time to adjust to the placement and functionality of certain keys, such as the F function keys doubling as number keys. But once you get used to it, typing on this keyboard is a breeze.
